You need to update your Firmware to find out. Use 09/05/11.

Use 8888 to find out.

Do you have a CAM or a viewing card in the STB. Pull them out, turn off and on and try again.

Backup your settings so you can restore them if you need to.

Maybe someone can shed some light on my problem.

I have installed all the firmwares up until 08 August and checked my CCID each time and it was 00D0 i.e genuine but when I installed the 8th August firmware it killed the box, I recovered the box with the previous firmware rechecked the CCID and it was 00D0 see:

So I then tried the 8th August release again and it shown 00D0 i thought great it must have been a bad flash earlier, i installed all my settings, rebooted checked CCID again but now it shown FFFF see: I rebooted again then it was back to 00D0.

Anyone know what is happening.

i had alot of problems with mine, flashed to latest firmware and it fixed it

Maybe instead of talking about clones someone will be able to write generic patch for killbomb routine. I m not sure if this is possible, but i read somewhere about patched images. Anybody has experience in this.

It s not on the original CCID list. So it should be a clone.

Some machines get the clone kill, others are ok. Try different firmwares.

Backup all your settings and factory reset first.

Just to let everyone know that the s9HD that I bought from DC recievers in Leicester appears to be a genuine one as it has taken the latest firmware and showing CHIP ID of 00EA. Great News as I was wary.

Anyway Good trader to Buy from and genuine box not a clone.

If you have an Openbox/Skybox S9/S10/S11 Receiver..there is a method to identify it is original or clone.

Follow these steps:

1 make backup of your box USB or RS232

2 install the firmware from 17-june-2011 or newest

3 go to Menu--- Tool--- Information--- Press 8888 and you will see the CHiP iD.

If your CHiP iD is one from the following list the list is updated continuously, then you have so called original box. All is fine for you.

the chip_id_list is the following, it will update everyday: updated date: 10/31/2011

When you buy a new box, try to view the chip_id_list on our website. If you can not find the valid CHIP ID on the chip_id_list, it means your box is a clone box.

I also have tried several versions over the 7-month results would have me as for clon 98a1, which when fermented under 7 months of the original show results CCID 98a1, so I take the conclusion 98a1 which is only 7 month downward course

If you have an Ali3602 HD Receiver like SKYBOX S9, S10, S11, S12there is a method to identify if it is original quality goods or clone.

Before identify, please backup your old software on the box by usb.

enter menu---tool---information---press 8888 key, now you will see CHIP ID. If the box CHIP ID is in the chip_id_list, congratulatation, your HD Receiver is original version. You can upgrade any new firmware to experience more new functions. Otherwise, You Box is clone version, please recover the software with the old version. This software will kill the clone box when power on over 10 times. If less than 10 times, no kill for clone verion.

Ok, If i understand that s for Skybox S serie.

But how can I find out for OPENBOX X5 HD, which firmware to put in.. On the front panel is written OPENBOX X5 nothing else, and on the both side is written X5 HD PWR and serial No.

I use USB upgrade and UART upgrade with so many different software, but on TV always appears: S/W autentification failed or. I used all methods to solve this problem, but nothing worked.

I think that I need original software for this receiver, but I don t know which.
